Flying fish!
Isn’t Summer all about being easy and breezy? You already have the templates from Monday’s post, right? Today, Francesca and Grayson are home to help me bring you 3 variations on Monday’s fish and butterfly templates. Do have have a birthday party coming up? Are you in need of a rainy day project or looking for a way to personalize a bedroom? I’ve posted instructions below for you to make these your own. Have fun!

Decorate:
1) make your own FISH OR BUTTERFLY GARLAND. Make your own party decorations or personalize a room.
2) Add shimmer to a room with a metal fish mobile
3) Party or everyday 3 dimensional Butterfly Place cards.
We seemed to have endless idea of what one could do with them. Did you try Monday’s correspondence cards in neon? Did your kids write more enthusiastically or did you make art instead? I would love to hear from you. Have fun and I hope you can make one of these your own!

3) Thread needle.
4) Carefully punch the needle through an entry point and exit point on the right side of the fish; proceed in the same way, using the same entry and exit point spacing, until the garland is the desired length.
5) Tie a similar loop of the end of the string. Knot it.
6) Hang the garland and you are ready for a party or decoration.2. MOBILE

SUPPLIES FOR MOBILE
(TEMPLATES BELOW) — ALUMINUM or THIN METAL FISH SILHOUETTES
STRING
2 EQUAL SIZED STRONG TWIGS
SCISSORS
NEEDLE WITH LARGE EYE
OPTIONAl: BEADS
OPTIONAL: HANGING IRON (STRING WORKS, TOO)

1) Lay the two equal sized twigs in an x-form.
2) Cut two pieces of string that are about 6 inches.
3) Take one piece of string and tie it around the middle. (see above bottom right, middle image). Flip the twigs over. Now, tie the second piece of string through the other sides (see above bottom right, far right.) Trim strings.
4) Cut 4 (or desired quantity) strings which will be used to attach the fish, desired length.
5) Thread the needle and knot the end.
6) Pierce a hole in the top middle of the metal fish form and pull the string through until the knot is secured. Repeat this with all fish.
7) Tie each strung fish with a knot at the end of each twig. Cut away extra thread.
8) Tie a loop of string from the center joint of the twigs. We hung this from a metal hanger but, you can easily just hang it with a piece of string.
9) We wanted a simple, clean, mobile but this would work will if beads were string on the string as well. Enjoy. The glimmer and shimmer from the metallic fish adds something extra to a room.3. PLACE CARDS

aug9e
SUPPLIES:2 BUTTERFLY SILHOUETTES NECESSARY PER PERSON (TEMPLATES BELOW)
SCISSORS
1) Fold Butterfly in Half.
2) Using your scissors, cut a straight line just past the center point of the middle from the bottom — from the BOTTOM to the middle.
3) Now, along the center fold of the second butterfly, cut a straight line just past the center point — cutting from the TOP to the center.
4) Slide the two pieces together and spread the pieces out equally for a 3D butterfly.
5) To use as a place card, write all of your guest names on individual butterflies.
We like these just on their own, as well.
