DIY KID’S CRAFT: FREEZER PAPER TEES — TRAVEL Ski Tees!
Be warned: once you learn this technique, you’ll be hooked. When our kids were very teeny, I took great pleasure in dressing and/or making them coordinating travel outfits. They are now at that stage where they don’t appreciate matching dressing — at all. I do, however, miss the ritual. I was just thrilled when I found this technique and realized that I could “go under the radar” and customize our own travel tees without the kids feeling that they were overly styled. Find instructions below.

Freezer Paper Tees Materials:

FREEZER PAPER STENCIL HOW TO:
1) Choose and draw pattern.
2) Trace pattern onto freezer paper.
3) Remove original drawing from under tracing.
4) With xacto knife, cut traced pattern out of the freezer paper.
5) Remove the area that has been cut and will later be painted. Place on tee in the correct and final position. Place a 2nd, same sized, sheet of freezer paper inside the tee and under the pattern. The waxed side of the freezer paper will be against the inner front of tee. With the cut stencil on top of the tee and backing paper inside the tee; iron these pieces to the tee. The stencil is ready for paint when these pieces are firmly attached to the fabric.
6) Carefully paint inside of this stencil with a brush or sponge.
7) Let edges dry slightly, but not completely. Carefully remove the paper; pulling gently at edges and peeling away.
8) Admire your stencil tee and let dry. Follow the setting instructions of the fabric paint.
(A call out to Sweden: I haven’t found waxed Freezer paper in Sweden. If you have a source, I would be happy to hear from you. Until then, I will continue to bring back a roll every time we travel to the US.).  I originally found instructions at sayyestohoboken:
