  • BEAR HUG: (Morning Sketch NO. 6) ... Materials: dried fern, leaves, sunflower petals, a white berry & white weed from down the lane that I don’t know its name...; pine cone pieces and stems. .. . #willowdayflowerproject ................................................................................ . I didn’t expect my basket of leaves and my morning warm up to lead to a bear hug but, the thought of expressing an emotion of love and support have been on my mind. Our 3 kids recently ran in a children’s @barncancerfonden fundraising run and I continue to think “what can I do?” Of course, I supported it with a mom’s cheer to “to run like like the wind, as far as you can” for this event” but... . . Long term: I’d like to imagine that “maybe’s become realities” and when my daughter, Francesca, tells me that one of her dreams is to become a doctor and to find a cure; it’s a dream I would love to see become reality if this is what calls her when studies come. If not, Francesca; maybe it’s one of you or your kids. . . In this moment, with what I have in my own hands and in my own imagination, I wish I could give every single child — and parent — fighting cancer, a hug; a bear hug. . . In addition to science, I do think creativity is a part of solutions and collective empathy — and send bear hugs out into the world to do good.. . I’ve wanted to do whatever I can for this and I’ve been thinking of a possible series of cards in support. .. . . I don’t use my feed for fundraising but If you live in Sweden and are looking for a group to support, my children ran in the “Course solidaire” @barncancerfonden . .

Last year, I turned to Heidi and Henry after seeing the Björn Borg film to fill my small costume making urge. Once a costume maker, forever a costume maker.🐶🐶 . 1. Björn Björn and John Mc Enroe in Wimbledon ‘81. . .(slide right). . . 2. Heidi of the Hills “and Grandpa” . 3. “The Parisians ” ”Oui, nous aimons la baguette.” .. .(they will do anything for baguette) I’m not sure about costumes but, already on my weekend list, in addition to a lot of ball games: . 1. I’m inspired by @fetegazette ‘s bat cupcakes and . 2 @pysselbolaget ‘s ghost puppets, 3 @pinkstripeysocks ‘s paper cut spider webs. . 4. And, non-Halloween and almost non-Autumn, but I can’t stop thinking about @anneliesblomsterochbakverk ‘s almond paste ice cream! , Have fun this weekend! . #willowday
  • Dancing Autumn trees . Do I have ballet-on-my-mind or does it look like these trees are dancing to you, too? . . It’s taken me until October to feel like I’m in the swim of things with school, work and schedules — etc!. One thing that I’m super happy about this Fall has been; when the kids leave for school , the dogs & I head out, too. Have you come along with us in stories? We pass so many beautiful scenes that I could spam you with Fall beauty but, decided to bring you along on those walks in stories, instead. . When I’m by the sea, I feel a million miles away from home and also, find myself almost saying this out loud: “can you see why I’ve been finding art in nature?” I come home with pockets full of leaves and it’s grand. . . Inspired by the magic of everyday, I hope it will carry you + your kids away into the whimsical, magical, spell of an enchanted flower animal world and alphabet adventures where:

One of the number one questions, parents ask me if how to create creative at home and this book grows from that question. . . I was inspired from creative, cozy days with my own kids, my own childhood, teaching and just the magic in the world around . . . Every animal and character is made from a flower and a painted cardboard/ paper animal shapes that should be easy for kids to make, too. It’s my hope that this is a book that entices playful learning and sparks imagination & everyday magic.
  • Sunday blooms portrait. . One “bloom” that’s growing too quickly, taking a moment with me, and the other “bloom” is a Mother-Daughter floral portrait I’m moving around the house that she inspired. . Although she’s a teen, she’s still the same character we’ve known from day 1 —- and felt inspired to capture with flower petals —- and I feel so lucky to watch her bloom. . #willowdayflowerproject .I’ll have it in the shop this week. .#ginavideillustration #whpunusualportraits @instagram .

  • Morning Sketch No 4: “Princess Torte” . .. Breakfast in bed, packages and ribbon started our week with my Hubby’s birthday. . . I’ve long had this idea for painting sweet treats —- sketching in leaves for starters. Let’s see where the leaves take me after my quick morning sketches” Princess Torte are almost too pretty to eat!
