I’m sharing bits all week in stories ✨ . . @hellajongerius ‘s thoughts in talk at @nationalmuseumswe on color resonated with me deeply today. . . Hella’s a master of industrial design, pushing craft and has transformational thoughts in design function & colors the industry. . . Hella’s explored and passionately catalogued colors that are industry standard and explores uses for pigments rather than straight carbon colors such as pure black made of carbon (standard) vs black made with complimentary colors (pigment) .
  • Double tap for that love-in-the-air February- feel! (Those you love or just that feeling of sun on your cheeks) . I’m going a little off-script but, this weekend I dusted off my camera bag to start the year committed to capture every day moments just for myself (I won’t flood my feed!) and to try hard to capture each and everyone in my family while not making them feel they’re stalked by a “paparazzi-mama). . . I began testing new lens, gifted to me by my Dad at Christmas, and feeling so incredibly grateful these and to have this daily scene to come home to and inspire me. It’s more than just a February-feel but a ❤️ in the air feel. Wishing you the same! . The last time I stuck with weekly portraits of my kids, was when I took a class at @fotografiska with Juliana @julianawiklundphotography which was a great way to hold myself to a deadline and have a small group to help lift one another. I recommend. . I’ve been following @karenhilmersson ‘s beautiful monthly portraits of her kids and the joy to watch her photography evolve & children grow — what a fantastic time capsule she’s creating. . ... and ... now, my studio calls! Like this illo, this time of the year we’re always skating and skiing, but this year, it’s so warm around Stockholm that instead: we’ll look forward to doing that later this month.   • MAKE DIY Koala Banks | It’s been a little while since I’ve played with a craft and when craft blogger & friend Karin (+ Freya ) of @pysselbolaget asked if I would like to guest post, it was en easy yes. @pysselbolaget is exploring sustainability & recycling in 2020 and I made these little koala banks with recycled tennis ball containers with this in mind. They’re very simple to make and I’d love to see a group of kids or for you makes these, side by side. . . Go to @pysselbolaget for the full tutorial & to explore many more cute projects for kids. . I’d LOVE to see your koala Banks if you use this tutorial, too! . .. 🐨 ❤️🌈❤️🐨 .............................................. . PS: . . Don’t be shy tagging and/or sharing them with me..here and tagging them #willowdayproject ! (... because.... my teens don’t have time to craft like this unless it’s a special occasion (however... don’t despair if you’re a parent of a toddler & this worries you! There are endless other ways to connect through creativity... although some literally involve handstands or scouting vintage stores for « stripe sweaters like above instead of drawing them« ...or deconstructing a find & reinventing it & lots of other fun ways (several projects I make with older kids come together much slower and I’ll share a couple this year...) but it’s just another big beautiful world. . . Which reminds me: do you follow any feeds with teenager families or teenagers. I’d love to hear which. .. Question Part 2: There are many reasons I think these are slim pickings in this segment ... . . Places I find parents & teens: @remainsoftheday_ & humorous musings ; my friend @artbarblog writes familiarly of cherished moments of shared art time w/ her teens ; @andreaheinsohn is a photographer who I think does a great job capturing beautiful teen portraits & @designmom often hits interesting subjects but I’d love to hear suggestions for feeds and/or hashtags🙏🏻😍 . #koalabearsofinstagram #pysselförbarn #pysselbolagetsskräpår #pysselbolaget #willowdayproject
  • Sending Australia love .. I hope soft, gentle and sweet breezes bring rain, comfort, help, rest & connection. ........................ Materials: eucalyptus, poplar leaves, pine cone, dry daisy, baby’s breath . ........................ I know you’ve seen these facts that share an estimated 1.25 billion animals have perished in Australia’s fires, including an estimated 30,000 koalas. I can’t stop thinking about it since I then read that the animals who have survived will also be facing starvation due to the loss of their habitat. It’s absolutely heartbreaking & pulled out my local eucalyptus for this koala art for you. . One person working to make a difference is Australian photographer Karen Rosenlunds - @kararosenlund has been sharing koala rescue photos all week; rescue news, and is making an impact through a fund she’s created that’s now raised $200k for KOALAs . .   • Peace + love. Full arms + full hearts . .. ————————————— . Did you still send holiday cards? Do you send holiday or New Year greetings? . . I love receiving & sending them; when I’m “home,” I love going through my mother & sister’s baskets of cards, too. I save them... and ... in the years I can’t get them out in early December, I adopt the French New Years card tradition: teen schedules; getting my 5 together —- same place; same time; during natural light; in clothes that mixed and matched appropriately — came and went this year 😅😂 *; so instead, I sketched a card while on the road. It was a one shot deal but, I enjoyed it so much: I think drawing on the road might help me to cement moments of our time together — pencil strokes and laughter, woven into merry memory making .... . This morning when I returned home with a pocket full of fresh flowers, found on my morning walk; I decided to extend the wish to you too; re-working it with foliage as my very last little new year wish to you. 😘🌸 .
