Wooden Bead Hair Twists

5 March 2014
Happy March!  I’m so excited about this post but before we begin making, I’m hoping that March is off to a wonderful start for you, too! Do you feel Spring in the air? I’m so glad to meet you again after our break.
(Click below for full post + Wooden Bead Hair Twist Tutorial that I’ve shared over at designmom:)
This first week has brought: Semla feasts, our first visitors of the month; wonderful Winter Break memories which included home, exploration of Stockholm and some very special Mom + kid time in London (+ reunion with beloved friends.) Happily, we’ve proven to ourselves that “yes, we can” survive our first year ever without skiing (a stiff upper lip was needed: knees must be healed and they’re moving beautifully, again!) — and the house has been full of happy, spontaneous, creativity (like this!) and of course, more time to bead new hair twists . There are so many beautiful Spring colors.

The Perfect Gift: Wooden Bead Hair Twists at designmom

Click here for the full post and tutorial — I’d just love to see what you do with these!
The idea for these came about through my love of unexpected combinations or contrasts  — such as, in this case, glitter vs.  raw wood. When I think about my inspiration for these, in many ways they’re a very natural reflection the two worlds we live between and a perfect way to combine Swedish nature and popular American products for something really special. I hope you think so, too. Happy Making! I’d just love to see what you do with these! Click here for full tutorial and more photos.
