Swedish Lights, December Nights

Although we just have 5 hours of sunlight per day in December, would you believe me if I said that I still think it’s such a pretty time of the year? From the first weekend of Advent, it’s as though the Milky Way dips down to fill window after window with candles and paper stars.

I fill every window that I can, too and love taking in the variations when we’re out walking our neighborhood (above): spotting old classic gradated orange stars, over sized white ones, colorful modern Bollywood styles … to impressive manors with both stars and candles in every window… it’s simply magical. I picked the kids up yesterday to enjoy the lights and have a little stardust trail to share with you, too. Just click below ….

After leaving our neighborhood and Henry our dog,  we made way past Old Town. We’ve been watching the big Christmas Tree progress for weeks (here) and then, to Kungsträgården and NK for our annual varm choklad followed by a look at the Department Store windows, a chance to ice skate, stroll and to check out the lights in town. (Perfect, since it happened to be timed well: Francesca’s birthday!) Wishes for merry and bright days and nights.
